Paving New Path for Food of the Future: GP-Food Welcomes New Students in April 2025 Orientation
On April 7th, the Graduate Program in Food Science held an orientation event for seven remarkable new students starting this program. One enthusiastic new student is currently enrolling as a doctoral student in the Graduate School of Dentistry. Another passionate mind is a Graduate School of Arts and Letters doctoral student. The other five remaining adventurous students are from the Graduate School of Agricultural Science, with two currently enrolled as doctoral students and the other three as Master’s second-year students.
During the orientation, students received various information about GP-Food, including an explanation of its vision and mission, requirements, scholarship, and a sneak peek of its activities so far. Students were also able to learn a little bit about their peers, catch up on some information from their peers, compare notes, and discuss various bits about food sciences during the event.
Furthermore, we hope that through this event, students will be able to recognize the faculty members and their fields and specialties, as discussion across various fields is vital in our vision of creating food of the future. This year, we opted to hold the orientation on the first floor of the Aobayama Commons building in the running commons area. This choice was made to encourage mingling and spark conversation between students, teaching staff, and the members of the Promotion Office for GP-Food.
We are thrilled to have these seven passionate students on board and cannot wait to work alongside them as they immerse themselves in their research, explore new ideas, and help create the food of the future. Welcome to GP-Food!
