GP-Food Program Faculty Participate in the Tohoku Forum for Creativity: “International Conference on Functional Foods, Medicinal Foods & Food Phycology”

From October 25 to 27, 2024, two assistant professors from the GP-Food Promotion Office, Dr. Afifah Zahra Agista and Dr. Saeka Koyama, along with over ten faculty members from our program, attended the “International Conference on Functional Foods, Medicinal Foods & Food Phycology” held at Taipei Medical University in Taiwan. Taipei Medical University, an important partner with our Graduate School of Agriculture through a dual-degree agreement, hosted this forum as part of its ongoing collaboration with Tohoku University.

At the conference, researchers from Taipei Medical University, Chulalongkorn University, and Tohoku University presented their findings and engaged in discussions on the future of food and nutrition. These exchanges sparked insightful dialogue on innovative approaches and shared challenges in food science.

Our faculty members are dedicated to further strengthening academic ties with our partner institutions and creating more opportunities for GP-Food students to gain international experience, supporting the growth and development of this field.
